Learning the bagpipes should be fun and rewarding for all students and with over twenty-five years experience as a tutor, I can ensure this is the case.

I have been Pipe Major of Bands in NZ & Canada  including the well known “Canterbury Caledonian Grade One Band”  I am currently the Musical Director for Canterbury Caledonian Grade 4 Band.  I have had vast experience in leading bagpipers from the age of ten through to their late sixties and beyond. I have particular strength in teaching younger students–developing technique, skill and enthusiasm. Having completed two years at Teachers College, I have had exposure to the classroom environment. I teach bagpipes to Individuals, groups and work with Pipe Bands on a regular basis.

Past students have had great success, with some securing music and piping scholarships at secondary school level, and some have gone on to compete at Grade 1 level in New Zealand and overseas.
